Mezzo Quartet
Mezzo Quartet was formed in 2017 at the Terrassa Professional Conservatory. Since their beginnings they have been united by friendship and a passion for chamber music. They seek to offer a sample of what the saxophone quartet formation is and to promote classical and contemporary music.
They have achieved great results in both chamber music and interdisciplinary competitions, playing 19th-century classical music and works by contemporary composers. L
The ensemble has participated in internationally renowned festivals in the saxophone world, such as the Palmela International Saxophone Festival (FISP) in Portugal, and has been recognised by the juries of several competitions, winning First Prize in the Chamber category at the 9th Victor Santos Competition (Portugal, 2023), Second Prize at the 106th Juventudes Musicales de España Chamber Music Competition (2023), First Prize at the 27th Josep Mirabent i Magrans Competition (2023), the Extraordinary Chamber Music Prize from the Conservatori Superior del Liceu (2022-2023 academic year), First Prize at the Tribuna Sax-Ensemble Competition (2022) held in Madrid, First Prize at the Subimos al Escenario competition organised by Juventudes Musicales de Sant Cugat del Vallès (2019), First Prize at the 19th San Anastasi Instrumental Competition in Lleida (2019), a Distinction for Professional Degree Chamber Music at the Terrassa Conservatory (2018-2019 academic year), First Prize at the 22nd Sant Joan de Vilatorrada Chamber Music Podiums (2018), and First Prize at the 2nd Ciutat de Mataró Music Prize alongside the Audience Award (2018).
